Regular Exercise extends your Life Span

A new research study revealed that as little as 15 minutes of exercise daily can extend your life span by as much as three years

Taiwanese researchers surveyed more than 400,000 study applicants in a 12-year period, where patients self-reported their weekly workout routine and were then categorized in one of the five groups: inactive, low, medium, high or very high exercise routine.

The research revealed that individuals in the low-exercise group, who spent minimum of 15 minutes on fitness per day, reduced their risk of dying by 10 per cent and had a three-year longer life expectancy than the inactive group. More exercise led to greater life gains. Every added 15 minutes of daily exercise further reduced all-cause death rates by 4%.

Exercise reduces disease and death dramatically for all major progressive diseases. According to a study involving over 13,000 participants cited by Ray Kurzweil in The Future of Aging, the overall death rate for moderate exercisers was 60% less than the sedentary group–and the high fitness group scored much better. Yet some 70% of Americans do not participate in any type of physical activity.

Exercise is critical to help dodge or reduce diabetes as well as most other diseases. According to the American Diabetes Association, exercising moderately for only thirty minutes a day coupled with a 5-10% reduction in body weight resulted in an astonishing 58% reduction in diabetes.

Travel experiences with a backpack: Malvan

We have travelled a lot on our own. Visited many famous places and some places so exotic that no one knows about them. Sampled cuisines, culture, music and everything else, which is a refreshing change when compared to stagnant city life. And in all such adventure, the mp3 player and back-pack have been stable companions. It is very important to have a sturdy backpack whenever you go out on these trips. Besides being tough, the Backpack needs to be very well organized so that contents can be reached without having to empty the entire thing to get something. The primary reason for carrying a backpack Is that it leaves your hands free to manage various other things without having to resort to ardous means.
One of the earliest trips we can remember is to the beachside area of Malvan, in Maharashtra. It much quiter a place than Goa, if you want complete peace of mind and a seamless sync with nature. It is still something of a virgin area and many people don’t know about it. The beaches are magnificent and the food is epic in its goodness. For those of you who are into simple cuisine which is robust and tasty as hell, this place is for you. And the best part is that it is so ridiculously cheap to stay there as compared to other beach spots. A couple of my close buddies had joined me there and we had the time of our lives. Also if you want to extend your vacation, Goa is a mere 50-60 km away! Malvan has breathtaking scenery, lush forests, beautiful beach front and also a rock garden. The best time to go there is during the month leading up to winter. Here are a few tourist attractions which may interest you.
§  Sindhudurg - A sea fort. This impressive Sindhudurg (meaning Ocean Fort), was built in 1664 by the great 17th century Maratha King, Shivaji on "Kurte" island to the glory of the Maratha Empire. The construction of a sea fort is a stupendous task, and at Sindhudurg, no efforts were spared. Over 4000 mounds of iron were used for casting and the foundation stones were laid down firmly in lead. Even today, as one approaches the fort past a rocky reef, navigable through a narrow channel, one marvels at the transportation of such heavy material through such choppy waters.
§  Tarkarli - A serene beach located 8 km off Malvan town. This beach is a favorite with sand particles devoid of any red tinge and sky reflecting waters. Further north about another 6–7 km, is the Tarkarli creek and a lovely estuary. A boat ride on the Tarkarli creek is a pleasant way to spend some time.
§  Rock Garden - The Rock garden is situated near the Arase Mahal and on the Rocky Shore of Malvan.
We hope you all have an awesome trip there, if you decide to go and also please tell me about any other such places.
Go ahead and Jiyo Life at this exotic beach destination! Would love to hear your comments if you have been here already. Jiyo Life!

Rid Yourself of stress & Jiyo Life yaar

What is it?? Stress is a condition or a phenomenon wherein a person suffers from exhaustion, irritability, inability to concentrate, dizziness, nausea, chest pain, rapid beating of heart etc. due to failure to respond appropriately to physical or emotional threats which leads to a health breakdown. Now this threat may be actual or imaginative.
The term ‘stress’ was first coined by endocrinologist Hans Selye in 1930.

Why is it bad??
Stress is a very personal problem. A person can have stress because:
·         He is not satisfied with his job

  • ·         Family problems
  • ·         Money matters
  • ·         Tension due to an upcoming exam
  • ·         Low self esteem and self confidence & many more.

As mentioned in the first part stress can lead to low concentration, low social interaction, rapid beating of heart ultimately leading to a heart attack.

So how can you get rid of it??
There is no solution to completely escape stress. However, you can make use of the following tips to avoid it.
Talk: As a popular ad says “baat karnay sey hi baat banti hai”. Whatever problems you may be facing, share it with your loved ones. They may be your parents, your best friends, your car driver, your professor, they can be anyone. It actually works. Just Share.

Write: There may be cases where a person may not be comfortable with ‘talking it out’ because they may be afraid or they just don’t want the other person to know it.
Writing is what you can do. You can start your own blog or maintain a dairy. If you love poetry, try writing one. See how your mind gets refreshed!

Get a pet: It has been proven that having a pet in your house can do wonders for one’s health. The pet can be  a dog, a cat, even a pet lizard, as long as you love it!

Music: There is no one on earth who is does not like music. Listening to your favourite tracks has been proven to be a great stress buster. There are different genres of music like rock, trance, pop etc. So go on and grab your headphones.

Laughter: ahahahahaha.hahahahahahahaahahahahaa.
Laughing out loud is one of the best stress busters one can make use of. Just laugh out loud. Crack silly jokes. Irritate people with your jokes, join laughing clubs, play a few pranks. just go ahahahahahahahaha.

Be Positive: Never ever underestimate yourself. Be positive in whatever it is that you do.

All in all, as the title suggests, destress and Jiyo Life!
